This research project is primarily about Isaac Cooper who entered Ohio in 1812. Some information about his parents would greatly enhance the story. However, it has not been easy to identify his parents. There are several possibilities, but using the facts that are available, it is most likely that his parents were John and Martha Cooper.
There's a biographical sketch of John Cooper in the book "Genealogical and Personal History of Fayette County, Pennsylvania" by John W. Jordan printed in 1912. It says the following:
"John Cooper, the founder of this branch of the Cooper family in Fayette county and progenitor of Hon. Allen Foster Cooper of Uniontown, came to Fayette county about 1790 from New Jersey. He was a descendant of James Cooper, who came to America before 1682, in which year he received a grant of land in New Jersey. In 1683 he bought land in Philadelphia, situated on Chestnut street, at about Ninth street. Several generations of this family were members of the Society of Friends. James Cooper was also the American ancestor of James Fenimore Cooper, the novelist. The English birthplace of James Cooper was Stratford-on-Avon, the date 1661."
"John Cooper, his descendant, was born August 4, 1742, died in Fayette county, May 4, 1797. He married Martha _____, born in December 1750. They had the following children: Asa, Rebecca, James, Isaac, Hannah, Martha (died in 1861) and Joel, mentioned below." (There's another full page about Joel, who stayed in PA, and his descendants, but nothing more on the other children of John and Martha).
Another book, "Historical Reference Book of Fayette County, Pennsylvania" published in 1900 by S. B. Nelson, states that John Cooper came to Fayette in an early-day and reared a family of five sons and four daughters.
The DAR credits John Cooper as serving as a Private in the Revolutionary War, 2nd New Jersey Battalion headed by Col. William Maxwell, 8th Company under Capt. Archibald Shaw.

Obituary printed in the New Lexington Herald, 21 Feb 1871, page 3:
Died in Clayton township, Perry county, Ohio, April 12, 1871, James Cooper, aged 90 years, 5 months, and 16 days. The subject of this notice was a native of the State of Pennsylvania but had been a resident of Clayton township nearly sixty years, having settled there in the fall of 1811 when Perry county was almost a wilderness. Being possessed of a robust and muscular frame and having an excellent constitution, he was capable of enduring great heardships. During his entire life he was an active, hard working man, having cleared out three farms in his palmier days, and even of later years still kept at his old profession, that of reclaiming land from the forest, having cleared some four acres of heavily timbered land since he was 80 years of age, and about one acre two years since. At the age of of eighty-five he plowed the land, planted and worked the corn, and cut and shocked that which when gathered measured over one hundred and fifty bushels of corn.
Perfectly upright and honest in all his dealings, he was respected by all who knew him. Although not a professor of religion, he was a great Bible reader, all of his spare moments being spent in that way. He read this Bible through five times within the space of seven months, but during his confinement to the house, which was since the 20th of December, his eyesight became so dim that he could not read, which was a source of great regret to him. And when the King of Terrors came, he had no fears, and passed from earth as calmly as a babe to its quiet slumber.

" John Cooper was the next settler in Portage township, coming in March 1834. He was born in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, April 25, 1811, whither his father had emigrated from New Jersey. In 1812 the removed to Perry County, Ohio, where John grew to manhood and married June E. Cusac, daughter of Daniel Cusac. In the spring of 1834, the young couple took up their residence on the west half of the southeast quarter of Section 29, entered in April of that year, where they have ever since resided. Nine children blessed their union, six of whom survive, Allen being the first male born in the township. Though a man of limited education, Judge Cooper has filled the office of associate judge and county commissioner very acceptably. He has been far more successful that the average pioneer, and is today one of the wealthiest farmers in the county."
